For all runners who are already registered for the marathon or Wiener Städtische half marathon at the VCM 2025, we are therefore again offering a limited number of free starts at running events in several Austrian regions. Up-to-date information will follow on this page.
The VCM partner runs are part of Erste Bank Sparkasse Running. Information about the VCM Winter Running Series can be found here.

MOLLN MARKET FESTIVAL RUN
Your running experience in the Kalkalpen National Park region: From the Mini Kids Run to the three-person relay (1.8 km each) and the 5.4-kilometer event – the Molln Market Festival Run is the perfect start to a fantastic summer holiday.
A lovingly organized run, a place full of history, and a magnificent natural landscape in the south of Upper Austria: It's worth coming early or staying longer to experience the diversity of the Kalkalpen National Park.

GANGHOFERTRAIL
The Ganghofertrail leads through one of Tyrol's most impressive landscapes. At around 1,100 meters above sea level, runners can expect a sunny high valley, clear mountain air, and well-maintained natural paths. The route runs along wide forest and meadow trails and offers a running experience suitable for both beginners and ambitious athletes.
Three distances are available:
- Fun Run 7.4 km
- Pleasure Run 14.4 km
- “Leutasch Half Marathon” 21.8 km
All races are technically easy, with moderate elevation profiles and guidance through the open, wide valley – ideal for finding your own rhythm and enjoying the natural scenery.

LE RUNNING EVENT
The LE RUNNING EVENT is the largest sports event held in the city of Leoben. On 19 September 2026, the LE RUNNING EVENT will transform the city center of Leoben into a running hotspot for EVERYONE for the 17th time.
In the 10 different races, even the youngest (in the diaper sprint) and children and teenagers (in the LCS children's races) can show their skills. For those who prefer a more relaxed activity, we offer the Nordic Walking race “Around Leoben” – a varied 3 km loop around the city. This race is inclusive, meaning anyone can participate – with assistance if required – and participation is free. The highlight is the 66 Minutes of Leoben: as a Leoben individual or as part of the AT&S 3-person relay team, the goal is to complete as many laps as possible on a 2 km circuit – accompanied by 12 bands and DJs. From the second lap onward, all participants merge into an impressive overall picture full of enthusiasm and joy of running.
After the award ceremonies, valuable prizes such as balloon rides, parachute jumps, and rafting tours will be raffled off.

VULKANLAND SPRING RUN
The Vulkanland Run in Leitersdorf im Raabtal in the Styrian Thermal & Volcano Region offers a colorful range of races, from children's runs to the 4.2 km hobby run and the 8.4 km fun run, all the way to the half marathon. The "Styrian Running Season Opening" is an atmospheric running event with timekeeping for both runners and walkers.

LINZ DONAUTRAIL
The Sparkasse OÖ Linz24 Donautrail is a spring outdoor event without a competitive character. Discover the most attractive trails and charming spots of Upper Austria's capital city. Along the way, you'll get to know Linz from its most beautiful sides. The start and finish are located on Landstraße.

GANGHOFER RUN
There are no running events in winter, right? Not quite! The Ganghofer Run in Leutasch invites professionals and hobby athletes to test their endurance on two skis.
Granted, running shoes and cross-country ski boots are not the same, but the joy of movement remains. Cross-country skiing is fantastic for building basic endurance. Austria’s largest and most popular public ski race attracts a large audience to Tyrol’s high plateau every year. In 2026, you can be part of it again – and for free!

ALOHA WINTER RUN SERIES LINZ
The ALOHA Winter Run Series in Linz keeps you fit throughout the winter months. The start is directly at the Lentos. The route runs along the Donaulände, past landmarks such as the Linz Brucknerhaus and along the cultural mile.

JEDERMANN RUN SALZBURG
Flat, fast, masterful – a running festival in the beautiful Mozart city of Salzburg! Combine city atmosphere with nature on the route along the Salzach river. The course is AIMS-measured and offers personal best potential for the distances of 10 km and 5 km, as well as 1.5 km for the Youth Challenger. A classic for “everyone” for 40 years!

SPARKASSE 3-COUNTRY MARATHON
Three countries, picturesque lake shores, impressive mountains, one common goal. At the Sparkasse 3-Country Marathon, there is a suitable distance for everyone.
The marathon route leads from the harbor of the historic island town of Lindau in Germany along Lake Constance to Austria, where participants run across the famous floating stage in Bregenz. A loop through Switzerland brings a friendly “Grüezi” in St. Margrethen. The finish for all races is in the stadium of Bregenz.
